The Appeal Of Mens Designer Fashion
I wouldn't go so far as to call the increase in mens designer fashion as disturbing, but I would definately catagorize it at a little surprising. Maybe it's the way I was raised, or maybe I'm just too old, but the latest trend is something that I don't understand. And I doubt I ever will.
That's not to say it's wrong, just not for me.
Do you love to shop? Well, if your answer is a whopping YES, then you must be female. Or are you? One thing I've noticed these days is that some men are into clothes. This is rather puzzling to me since I don't get excited over suits and fancy shoes. What happened folks? Sometimes I think the genders are changing so drastically that soon we won't be able to tell them apart. I mean come on, mens designer fashion. What does this even mean?
Well, regardless of if you're one of these contemporary males who dig the duds, or if you're more old-school, the fashion industry is still making a killing. I don't think there is enough room in my household for another fashion nut. Since I live with three females, I simply try and stay out of it. What's hanging in your closet? I can tell you quickly what's in mine. Several pair of jeans, a wide assortment of t-shirts, some nice shirts with collars, and yes, an off the rack suit or two for when I need them. They're in the back however and rarely worn.
Are you a modern-day man, who loves to go all out when it comes to clothing? Please understand, I'm not mocking you, but I simply can't see the appeal of mens designer fashion. Maybe it's because I grew up in an outdoor type of environment, loaded with gun, knives, and cutlery. It makes me sound like a redneck doesn't it? Clothes were never anyone's priority out there. In my house we were all dressed in two minutes flat. However, these days things are not so quick.
While I still stick to T-shirts and jeans, my better half is a fashion nut. She goes gaga over clothing every time we hit the local shopping center. This goes the same for our teenage daughter. Of course that's to be expected since females are living in a fashion-based society. I laugh at my wife when she makes fun of my old T-shirts and jeans, but then tells me that mens designer fashion is kind of feminine. Hey, which way does she want it? Women still crave that manly man at heart, but for some reason they want us to dress nice on occasion. I can certainly oblige that every so often.
Personally I don't think that mens designer fashion was the best idea for our society. Heck, men are already wearing double earrings, loads of other jewelry, and sometimes make-up. What is going on? How are we going to be able to tell the sexes apart? And now we have all this mens designer fashion on top of it. Things are getting out of hand. With the males getting shorter and the women growing taller, pretty soon the softer sex will be the protectors. I'm not trying to sound like a neanderthal, and am even a believer in women's liberation. But I still think there are and should continue to be differences between the sexes.
Anyway, is anyone still interested in mens designer fashion? If you are a fashion nut, you can always delve into cyberspace for the latest trends. Just be aware, it's also expensive for a man to be a fashion nut. And if you live with several other fashion nuts like I do, be prepared to spend a good portion of you budget on clothing. Me, I'd rather spend it on my wife and kids, and get myself something I can be comfortable in.
