Clear Bra Straps - An Important Part Of Every Woman's Wardrobe

Personally, I really don't like strapless bras. They rarely stay in place and quite honestly, don't always do what they are designed to do. I rarely wear them anymore now that I've discovered the benefits of clear bra straps.

We’re all familiar with those fashion staples that are critical parts of our wardrobes. That perfect pair of jeans. Those strappy shoes that are dressy enough for casual day in the office yet snazzy enough for a night on the town. The little black dress, along with the jacket or sweater that goes over the little black dress to make it professional by day.

Just as important in every woman’s wardrobe these days are clear bra straps. We’ve all been there. You’re out shopping, and on a whim you grab that perfect strapless or backless dress or shirt and take it home, only to find that you don’t have a bra in your arsenal that doesn’t peek out of the outfit in all the wrong places. Clear bra straps are an easy solution to this problem.

Here's the catch. You need to have at least one bra that you really like that also is convertible. Simply put, you need a bra that allows you to change out bra straps. Some would argue that there are ways around this, but quite frankly, I haven't had much success with any of them.

Of course, there are strapless bras available. But in many cases, clear bra straps provide a much better solution. Many women have a favorite bra that provides just the right amount of lift and support without creating unwanted lines and ridges that show through clothing material. The problem is, the bra isn’t strapless, and no one wants to go to a formal dinner or a night of wild dancing in a tiny backless dress or that form-fitting tank top with her bra straps the most noticeable thing about her outfit.

Clear bra straps are the perfect solution when you don’t want straps to show at all. They can be used with most convertible bras. In some cases, clear bra straps can even be used with strapless bras to help keep them from shifting and sliding throughout the course of a day.

When shopping for bras, it is a good idea to choose those that will allow you to exchange the existing straps. That way, you can easily replace them with clear bra straps when the outfit you’ve got planned calls for bare skin.

The utility of them is obvious. But many women have turned them into a fashion statement in and of themselves. Creative types have added rhinestones, sequins, or beads to their clear bra straps and worn them as an accessory. Using clear bra straps in this fashion can add an element of flair and unique style to your outfit.

Replacing existing straps with different straps is very easy for bras with interchangeable straps. But if your favorite bra is not interchangeable, don’t despair. Women with a bit of sewing ability have often successfully replaced the straps on a favorite with clear bra straps. Of course, this means that the change is permanent or that you’ll have to do more sewing if you wish to change back to the original straps.

Overall, straps that are see-through provide freedom and flexibility in planning your wardrobe, both as a mechanism to hide all evidence of a bra and for some, as a decorated fashion statement in and of themselves.

No admittedly I haven't been brave enough to venture into the realm of making my bra straps a fashion statement. And truthfully, I don't particularly like the way it looks on those who do. But that's just one woman's opinion. It is, of course, neither right or wrong. And if it's something you think you'd like, go for it.
