We've all seen them. Those fragrances in the drugstore that advertise "Smells Like such and such Brand Name Perfume". Have you ever taken a whiff of them? Actually they do smell pretty close. But they tend to be a weak substitute. Here's why. First we're going to assume you wear perfume. If not, there's your first problem.
Do you smell? Believe it or not, but you may not know the answer to this question. I have known several individuals in my life that have a horrible odor. Granted, a few of them did not bathe regularly, but come on. In this modern world we all share where bathrooms come quite standard in each home, I would assume that most people take showers or bathe on a daily basis. It should be a standard grooming habit if you ask me.
However, I have also known a few people, who were men no doubt, that smelled regardless of the fact that they cleaned up daily. We'd be hanging out at school or downtown, and I couldn't help but catch a whiff of their foul odor. It was high time for a cologne, body spray or even brand name perfume to kick that funk to the curb.
OK, since we've established that you should wear perfume, let's talk about the drugstore variety vs. the brand name perfume. As I said, there is a difference.
Do you know the difference between a brand name perfume and a drugstore fragrance? Well, let me give you a basic rundown. The brand name perfume is made to last longer. What many people do not realize about fragrances is that they are all truly different. Take an eau de toilette for example. These fragrances are made with stronger oils; therefore they will last longer and produce a more powerful scent, even in small doses.
Then you have the body spray. These are a weaker version, which can certainly be applied more liberally. Their scent will wear off as the day progresses.
In my opinion, the key fragrance that every human being should be wearing is deodorant/antiperspirant. This should be a law or something. Body odor is not a pretty sight. So all of you hippies out there, who refrain from using any deodorants or brand name perfume, you wreak. I don't care if no one has told you yet. Chances are they never will. But, you most likely still radiate a terrible funk.
Now I'll get down off my soapbox (no pun intended) and get back to the topic at hand.
If you are in the market for a quality brand name perfume, you might want to hop online. This is probably the best place to go if you're in the market for cologne, body spray or brand name perfume. There is a massive selection available. However, before you decide on that ideal cologne or brand name perfume, you'll probably want to check it out in your local department store first. This way you can be certain that it smells right on your skin.
Yes that's another factor you need to consider. Just because something smells nice out of the bottle doesn't mean it will smell good on you. You need to try it out. Different fragrances smell different on different skin types. Once you determine what smells best on you (don't be afraid to ask others shopping with you), then you can make the purchase that should be a daily part of your grooming routing.
